Why do some file icons on SecureOffice look different to the ones on my computer?
SecureOffice displays file icons based on their detected file mime type or suffix. If SecureOffice is unable to recognise the file type or if the document has no file suffix a default file icon is used. SecureOffice currently recognises over 100 of the most popular file formats, including PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
I want to share some photos, movies and music with friends. Can I use SecureOffice?
If they are photos, movies and music you created and you are the legal copyright owner, then yes. Otherwise, no. You are prohibited from using SecureOffice to publish content of an illegal or obscene nature or any material which you do not have the legal owner's permission to use. For more information read the User Terms and Conditions of Use (60KB PDF, opens in a new window).
Does SecureOffice support Macintosh file resource forks?
No. To retain resource forks in your Mac files, create a zip or Stuffit archive for the file(s). More recent Macintosh file formats do not rely on the resource forks. For example, adding file suffixes such as .qxd (for Quark docs) and .psd (Photoshop files) to your file names will ensure the files open in the correct programs without creating a zip or Stuffit archive for them. SecureOffice will also display the correct file icons if the file suffixes are added.
